Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a colorful mix of characters, and a exciting storyline featuring divine entities, fiends, and sinister influences growing in strength within the city.
Warning: Key plot points for the latest installment of the new season follow below.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 finished on a dramatic pause and revealed the premier party of heroes who will split off from the main group to undertake their own adventure, separate from the remaining groups.
This warrior group consists of the determined fighter (played by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), the cleric (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Considering a large ensemble, it was evident from the outset that having everyone at one table would be impossible.
This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, connecting the characters’ stories before splitting into three distinct groups: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for players who are drawn to a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are rare.
Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might seem out of place, but the events of the latest installment show why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the party knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—manipulated the foes for his own means, invading the secret base, striking the character, and taking all the magical artifacts to sell off.
Casimir then settled his liabilities and ran away to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the city, with Cyd close behind.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
- The adventurer is familiar with the region and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
- The strong character and The healer, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to execute the target and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their position as key figures in the powerful family could enable the team enter places they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character vowed a life debt to The cleric for his deliverance and will now go with him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are hunted by the rulers that govern Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The strong figure and Wicander turned against the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The target is wanted dead by the clan.
This means them little choice but to travel to the northern region in pursuit of Casimir.
